Adult obesity – obesity symptoms

Adult obesity can be primary and secondary. Primary obesity arises as a result of overeating, secondary as complication of different diseases. For instance, these can be diseases, associated with lesions of the endocrine glands or disorders of the central nervous system. According to World Health Organization, in 30% of people from developed countries, the body mass is 20% above norm.

As well as childhood obesity, adult obesity develops gradually. But the larger the body mass, the more often patients have such obesity symptoms as: constant fatigue, dyspnea, pain in legs and spine and excessive sweating.

Adult obesity is characterized by decreased immunity, thus overweight people often experience the relapses of infectious and respiratory diseases (bronchitis, pneumonia).

Adult obesity several times increases risk of myocardial dystrophy, lesion of the brain vessels, varicose veins, thrombophlebitis and (or) hypertension. Another obesity symptom is respiratory failure. In this case fatty deposits compress the lungs, reducing their volume and diaphragm mobility.

The truth is that adult obesity violates the work of gastrointestinal tract, increases the secretion of gastric juice and risk of gastrointestinal ulcers.

Excess weight affects liver and kidneys, therefore obesity symptoms can be the following: pancreatitis, cholecystitis, cholangitis and urolithiasis. Often obesity symptoms become the lesion of small and large joints, dislocation of joints and sprains.
